Boys will be boys

It seems like lately Weston has been becoming even more of a little boy. I mentioned that he eats like a horse...well here is the proof of it. Yesterday morning I made muffins for breakfast which are one of his favorites. I couldn't believe the way he was wolfing them down so I broke out the camera. Mark's mom used to call him "Piglet" when he was little (actually I think until we got married!) but I think that name is more fitting for our little Fussy Britches.

The other day he was getting into mischief and fell, smacking his head right on the very corner of the open drawer he wasn't supposed to be in. He had a massive bump and I felt so bad. Luckily my sunglasses cheered him up pretty quick. Boys are fun - but also a handful!

Belly Shots

Well, because it has been requested of me I am posting a couple pictures of my belly. There are those women who you can hardly tell are pregnant and there are those that have no way of hiding it and I am the latter. I would say that I hate it but truthfully, even if I got four times as big as I do I would still have tons of kids because I love it and I believe it is what I am on this earth to do. We can hardly wait for this little one to join our family!

Another cute video

Weston loves to play ball. He was so ecstatic the other day so I got out my camera. Of course, once I get it out he becomes distracted so this video is really only half of how excited he really was. And once again, bad camera action because I was trying to play ball with him and video tape. I'm going to have to figure that out! And sorry for my totally irritating voice. Once you have a kid you become incapable of speaking in regular tones any more.

Videos

So we've had our camera for over two years now and I just figured out the other day how to do video on it. Hello! Now I may become obsessed. =) Weston loves shoes and is always trying to put them on his feet. Whether their mine, his, or his daddy's! He really gets into mischief with them.

Sorry about the terrible camera action in this one. It was really hard putting the sunglasses on his face and trying to tape it at the same time! He loves my sunglasses and will get them out and bring them to me for me to put them on him.

January Remember When

I almost forgot to post my old picture for the month. I really do love snow, but I'm getting tired of being COLD! So I've been reminiscing about our wonderful beach days lately and decided I'd post one of my favorite pictures I took of the beach by our house at sunset. We could actually see this very beach from our house. Ahhh, the good old days.

These Are a Few of My Favorite Things

I've been thinking a lot today about how grateful I am for many things, but especially Weston. I am a fairly grateful person in general, but this year I really want to work on having gratitude for all the small things too. So I wanted to list some of my favorite things about Weston that I am so grateful for.

1. He never cries when he wakes up in the morning. He just lays in his bed and talks to himself while he plays with his feet or his blanket.
2. About 90% of the time when you tell him no he will stop what he is doing or getting into.
3. He eats like a horse. I never have to worry about finding something that he will eat. Some days he has more then I do at meal time!
4. He goes straight to bed at bedtime and sleeps for 12 hours straight, at least.
5. He's perfectly content to play by himself. When Mark or I play with him, that's great too, but he doesn't need us to be happy and entertained.
6. He likes to go new places and be outdoors. I think he's going to have the same adventuresome spirit that his daddy does.
7. He cuddles after every nap and in the morning.
8. He will point at what he wants until you figure it out. Not throwing a fit, just patiently waiting for you to understand what his little heart desires.
9. He likes to put things away. Never where they go, but I suppose that will take more time. It's so fun though to open a drawer and find anything from toys, to shoes, to baby lotion in it.
10. He likes to look at his books and make noises like he is reading. In fact, he doesn't like it nearly as much when I actually do try to read to him.

I love my little boy more then I could ever say. I am thankful every day that Heavenly Father blessed me with such a special little guy.

Sledding

I can not even remember the last time I went sledding. Last week we decided to get some of the cousins together who could go and go sledding at this great park by our apartment.

I wish I had taken a better picture of the hill because
it was massive. We had such a great time. We went flying all the way across the park. Here are some of the gals coming back up. Inflatable sleds are the way to go!

It was SO windy though and Weston really didn't enjoy that. I love this picture though. I think it's the perfect explanation of Weston's day. So I spent a good deal of time holding him while he took a nap. I didn't mind though. It was so fun to watch everybody. I hope we get to go again before spring comes.

Christmas

Christmas morning was really great. This is most of our presents. I didn't put Mark's out because it was wrapped in a way that I knew he would know what it was. Weston was really into it. He didn't care about tearing the wrapping paper off but it didn't take long for him to figure out that there was something good underneath all that paper. Weston got about six boxes of ninja turtles. Can you guess who was in charge of Weston's presents this year? It was my year to do stockings. It's fun rotating because then Mark and I still have surprises. I was surprised
that Weston actually really liked the ninja turtles. Now we have about every single ninja turtle and enemy ever made. Good thing I know we're going to have lots of boys. =) Mark got me perfume, an armband for my iPod, shirts, and a small photo printer which will be great because I get so far
behind on my photo albums. Mark got a few games and I have spent the last month slaving over a quilt for him. He was adamant that he wanted a Marine Corps quilt so that's what he got. However, I was looking at the picture I took and found a flaw in the pattern. So irritating. There are lots more mistakes then I wanted there to be but he loves it and I'm just
glad it's done!

We went to Salt Lake later that day and had a great dinner with Mark's brother Sean and his wife Crystal. We stayed up until 2:00 am playing games. It was great and we really enjoyed our Christmas with Weston being bigger this year. We are already excited for next year when we will have a two year old and six month old to enjoy the holiday with also!
