It's a....

GIRL!!! I am totally beside myself with excitement! I was convinced it was a boy but I think secretly I really wanted a girl because I can't believe how excited I am. Now I won't be outnumbered! =) Everything looks great and she's measuring perfect. I feel so blessed and I can hardly wait to welcome Saydi Jo to our family!

20 Weeks and Fussy Eating

Well, we've reached the half way mark. Actually, I'm more then half way because they always have to induce me at 39 weeks. I swear my camera makes me look ten times bigger then I feel. Or maybe I AM ten times bigger then I feel! Anyway, here's a picture. Not the best but I didn't want to give this one the shaft since I took pregnant pictures with Weston. =) I can hardly wait for Friday for our ultrasound. It's so comforting to see that your baby is doing good. Hopefully all will be well and we'll be able to see what this little bug is!
I also mentioned in my last post that Weston has been attempting to feed himself. He's becoming more and more successful each day. I got a video of it the other morning. He didn't do as good in the video as he had been doing. He usually gets his spoon totally loaded before he attempts to put it in his mouth. He's getting too big.

My Little Big Boy

Weston seems to be learning something new every day and I love it. It's making me even more excited for this new baby because I'm beginning to realize he isn't my baby anymore! Well, sort of. =) Anyway, here are some recent videos. He says "please" in sign language. He used to just do it when we asked him to but now he occasionally will break it out when he really wants something because he knows it will get him results.
The other one is of him saying "bye bye". I love the way he says it. Any time we go near the door, put on our shoes, or jackets he frantically starts saying it and waving in the hopes that he's going bye bye too.
Other things he's been figuring out include feeding himself (this is a fiasco but something he demands at every meal time), he can point out an elephant when I ask him, and he's starting to fold his arms when it's time for prayer. He can't always bring his arms together but when I do it for him he keeps them that way and is quiet until we say "amen". Except for longer prayers, like at church. =) He doesn't have that much of an attention span. Must be the whole boy thing.

Girl's Night

Once a month me and some of my high school girlfriends get together and just chat for a couple hours. I love it. I just got back tonight and wanted to post because it was so much fun and I am such an advocate for girl's night! I am so ready for whatever tomorrow may bring now.

Here's my personal highlight of the night that I had to share because I'm still laughing about it! So Taunya (formerly Hill) was nice enough to play hostess this month and we went to her house. I've never seen it yet so before we left I asked her if she could show me to the bathroom. Well, she's such a good hostess that she really wanted to make sure I was taken care of in there. She proceeds to follow me in and close the door behind US! Okay, not good to make the pregnant lady who has to pee laugh hysterically! We were dying. I'm like, "Um, I don't need help Taunya!" I'm hysterically laughing even now just thinking of it. She is so cute and that is classic Taunya!

Bridget and Cherice had their babies there (I took Weston to Amy's because he has a cough and a runny nose and I didn't want him around a newborn) and they are so cute. I know I'm biased with my own nieces and nephews, not to mention my own kid, but my friends have some seriously cute babies too! It was so great and I so love spending time with my friends. Love ya gals!

Wonderful Weekend

We had such a great weekend. Our anniversary was Saturday and it was the best day ever. We went to the temple and stayed to do sealings afterwards. It was so nice to hear the same words that were said as we knelt across the altar five years ago. Then we went to lunch together and had such a great time. We also saw Seven Pounds which is the best movie! Take kleenexes though! After that we came home and exchanged gifts which was great. We made gifts for each other this year since we are not exactly rolling in the dough. Mark made five hearts out of steel at work - one for each year we've been married. They are so sweet. I traced Mark's priesthood lineage and he really loved it. I also had my super talented brother-in-law record just the piano part of the song "Feels Like Home" (on How To Lose a Guy in Ten Days) and I sang it for Mark because he's always asking me to sing for him and I hate it because I don't think I sing very good. But I did it and he loved it. We didn't really do anything miraculously special but it was so wonderful to spend the whole entire day with my husband. He is great company!

Weston was pretty good this weekend but he's been going on a nap strike ever since he realized he could get out of bed on his own. He is perfect at night and doesn't get up once.
But his naps are really stressing me out! Then he's tired all day and just whines. I'm not quite sure what to do so if anyone has some suggestions I'd appreciate it! But anyway, we put this sweater on him one day last week because it wasn't very cold and we weren't going far. Well the next morning he brought it to me and wouldn't leave until I put it on him. His daddy took it off later in the day but he found it and brought it back to me until I put it on him again! It was pretty cute. What's sad is that we got this sweater for Ty (or Trev...can't remember exactly) and now it fits Fussy, even if it is a little big. And it wouldn't fit on Ty's big toe! He's a beast. Anyway, it's cute and I'm glad my little guy already has Marine Corps pride. =)

February Remember When

This isn't the greatest picture but it's the only one I have on my computer (ridiculous I know) and I wanted to do a wedding picture for my remember when this month since the 7th is our FIVE YEAR ANNIVERSARY! I can hardly believe it has been five years. I was so young when I got married and I tell our sunday school kids (who are 16 and 17) that I do NOT recommend it, but it worked for me due to circumstances that made me grow up a lot faster then most 18 year olds. I'm so glad I made my decision based on prayer and fasting and made sure Mark was who Heavenly Father wanted me to marry before I did. I have not regretted that decision one day in these five years.

For those of you who are against "corny" stuff you can skip this part, but I wanted to post about how amazing my husband is. I'm so glad I have spent the last five years with him and that I have eternity to look forward to. In the important ways Mark is exactly what I knew I wanted in a husband, but in a lot of ways he's the exact opposite of what I thought I would want. Thank goodness Heavenly Father knows what He's doing though because Mark is absolutely everything I NEED. We have been through a lot of trials in the five years we've been married. More then I think most people face. Everything from divorce between our siblings who were married, to several hospitalizations, to infertility, to a four month separation and many other shorter ones because of the Marine Corps (not to mention just the Marine Corps period), and everything in between. I can honestly say that all of it has brought us closer together and there's no one who could have been there for me through the hard times we've faced as well as Mark has. If I hadn't married Mark I probably never would have experienced life in California - an experience which strengthened my testimony in a way I would have never enjoyed elsewhere. People sometimes misread Mark because he is quiet and doesn't have much to say, but I love that about him because you better believe when he does start talking what he has to say is worth while. He honors his priesthood in a way I never knew men could and I am so grateful that he is what my children will have for a father. I love you Baby and I will love you forever.

Terrible TWO's?

Well, I thought it would be a while longer before my angel baby turned into a toddler but he's wasting no time. He has recently begun stomping his feet when he wants something and waving his arms like a windmill (usually in front of my face) when he doesn't want something. I guess at least I know the difference but it sure is annoying. I'm not quite sure how to teach such a little guy patience! He seems to whine incessantly now also, but with a nickname like Fussy Britches I suppose I'm not that surprised that he still is living up to it. Despite this though he has also been up to some seriously cute stuff lately too.

One thing I love is that he dances now. I really like the song Love Lockdown (Kanye West) because the beat at the chorus totally makes me want to clog (the dancer in me will forever prevail). So I figured out the steps to make it match the beat and I always do it at that part. Well, one day I noticed that whenever I turned that song on Weston started dancing like me. Here's a little video of it. It gets shaky because I was trying to get him to keep doing it by doing it with him. Sorry.

I've mentioned before his obsession with shoes. On Sunday he put Mark's on one foot (he prefers Mark's church shoes) and got his foot stuck in it. I'm not sure how but he managed to hobble into the bathroom where Mark and I were getting ready for church and it was so cute. He also has a new favorite toy thanks to Aunt Sayah and the gals, Hannah and Hallee. I went over last week and they let him play with this toy vacuum they have. He wouldn't put it down! So they let me have it for the time being since they don't use it
anymore. In the car on the way home he fell asleep - but not until after he had pulled it up onto his lap! He plays with it every day. For the first few days even when he was done playing with it he would hold it in one hand and play with his other toys with the other hand. It's so cute. He really thinks he's helping.

Another new thing is that we recently took the front off of his crib so it's more like a bed. I didn't want him feeling like we were kicking him out of his bed for the baby and I'm NOT buying another crib so we wanted him to have plenty of time to transition. He's done GREAT. He has never gotten out of bed when he's supposed to be napping or sleeping and even in the mornings he just talks or fusses until I go in and get him. He fell the first night and then didn't for two weeks but last night for some reason he fell out twice! Not sure what that's about but he's doing good with it and I'm glad it hasn't been difficult for any of us! I love my little guy so much and it's crazy to see what a big boy he's becoming!!

Catch Up

It seems like so much has been going on! We had a busy weekend and spent lots of time with family. Sean and Crystal were in town and we gave Crystal a baby shower Friday night. It was fun. On Mark's side there are FIVE of us having babies this summer over a three month period! So we got a picture of the five of us. I forgot my camera though so I'll have to post it when I get it emailed to me. Of the five of us I'm the only one that doesn't know what I'm having (we find out on the 27th!) and ALL four of the other gals are having girls! Crazy. I keep telling everyone we're going to be the ones to break the mold. Anyway, the guys all were together at Sid's and when we got back they wanted to show me what Pa Sid taught Fussy so they put him right by the top of the stairs. Here I suppose I must confess what a bad mom I am and admit that the last time we were there Weston fell ALL the way down the stairs. He thought we were playing chase as we were trying to get him to stop so he took that fateful step and tumbled down all the way. It makes me sick just picturing it over again but he had no injuries and was just scared. Anyway, this being the case I was a bit nervous - but Weston sat down, turned around and proceeded to go down the stairs all by himself. It was the cutest thing though because he springs off both of his legs at the same time and jumps to the next step so he looks like a little frog!

Jeni's youngest, Chase, was baptized on Saturday and it was a great baptism. We played games after that and spent the day with Mark's family. Then Sunday we were all supposed to go to church as a family too but Jeni ended up going home early, Crystal went home sick, and Grammy was in Utah! So it was sort of all of us, sort of not. Weston was even more rambunctious then usual at church because it was a new church to explore and he had five nephews to entertain him during sacrament so of course he couldn't nap. We went to Sid's and watched part of the Super Bowl yesterday and had a good time.

Another recent development is that I am now going to be doing some work from home. We got a new home teacher and it turns out his wife does editing and formatting for government contractors and she does it all at her own pace (as long as she meets the deadline) and works from home. Well, she needs some help with this new project she's working on and since I have lots of experience from the last job I had they are letting me help them out. The pay is GREAT - more then I could make anywhere else and I can focus on it when Weston is asleep or otherwise occupied. I feel so thankful for this new opportunity and it is definitely an answer to prayers! So if my posting becomes infrequent these next three weeks, that is why! So, I think that's the most recent happenings. Weston has been up to some seriously cute stuff but this post is already super long so I'm going to add another one. =)
