Saydi's First Hair Cut

I've been putting it off forever and ever, but I finally decided it was time to cut Saydi's hair. Her curls very aptly were hiding the fact that she had a mullet.
My cousin is a couple weeks away from finishing beauty school so we headed out to Austin Kade and had her cut it! Saydi was excited about it because I told her she could have fruit snacks while she was getting it cut if she would hold still. She did really good considering the way she behaves when I just try to put her hair in a pony tail! She was a little scared of the high seat and kept saying, "I gonna fall" but the cape and snacks helped distract her!
Fifteen minutes later my baby girl was no longer a baby! She looks so grown up now.
She wouldn't hold still long enough for me to get a good picture so I tried to get one the next day. But she still wasn't really cooperating. =) I am so glad I got it cut. The only problem I'm having is that when it's straight and she takes a nap she wakes up with it wavy/curly because she sweats!
Thanks April! Here's to the first of hundreds more! =)

2 Months

Seriously? I had Jonas two months ago? I can hardly believe it is going by so fast. But it is and we are trying to enjoy every moment we can! Jonas had his two month checkup yesterday and he is growing great! He weighs 11 pounds 7 oz. (33rd percentile) and is now 23 inches long (52nd percentile). He didn't handle his immunizations so well and had a raging fever all day and all night but he's slept it off today and is doing well. I just love him so much. He is such a sweet spirit and I know he was meant to come to our family at the time that he did. He is so happy and smiley and is starting to talk a lot! He will have conversations with me that just melt my heart. So what if all that's said back and forth is "ah goo"? =) He is such a blessing to our home and I feel more then blessed that he is my son. Here are some pictures to enjoy! (Please forgive the poor quality of the ones from my cell phone. Sometimes you just have to capture the moment with whatever is closest!)
A result of my hands being full and not wanting to make two trips up the stairs. Lazy, perhaps. Adorable, yes!
Chillin' in one of his favorite hang outs.
Poor baby sweating off his fever with daddy yesterday. You'll notice 9 times out of 10 he's asleep with his daddy. Mommy is always too busy to take naps. ;)
But occasionally I do get to slip a few seconds of sleep in.
All my kids do this when they can get their arms free. I love it because Mark and I both sleep with our arms over our heads too.
Tell me how I'm not supposed to kiss this face 100 times a day? LOVE HIM!

Buddies

I did a post last year about how much Weston and Saydi's relationship reminded me of my relationship with my sister, Miss, when we were younger. As they grow up it's more and more apparent to me. Saydi (me) can be a beast and Weston (Miss) is ever so patient with her. Saydi likes to play on her own a lot and Weston just won't have it. He will stop what he is doing and do what Saydi is doing instead just to be with her. I love these two and all their craziness. In light of the new addition to our family that's been getting so much attention I decided a post just for them was necessary!

They each have their own crazy sense of style: Saydi's being a shirt with her swimming skirt and mommy's flip flops. Hey, at least everything matches right?!
Weston is more into the helmets at grandma and grandpa's that are two sizes too big.
Here's a good example of how they differ - where can you find Weston in the middle of a big rain storm? In the rain of course!
And where is Saydi? Cautiously watching Weston play from the safety of the screen door.
Ah, dinner time. My least favorite time of the day. The scene below is a common one. Weston telling me with great concern that Saydi isn't eating; Saydi pouting because she knows she has to eat her food and won't win the battle. A good example of Weston's mothering and Saydi's beastliness.
I love this picture because it also captures their relationship. Saydi is enamored by a plane passing overhead. Weston, of course, is looking at Saydi to make sure she's not missing the moment since he knows how much she loves to see the planes go by (as long as they're not too close that is).
I saved the best for last. I had a dentist appointment a couple weeks ago so Mark was home with all the kids. He was holding Jonas in our room and peeked out to see what the kids were up to. The following is what he found. Weston is hard to understand but he is saying "I wanna sit on your lap". And please ignore the disaster area that is called a kitchen. It's clean at night but usually a mess all day long. =)

I just love these two kiddos. There's nothing better then watching your kids play and seeing how much they love each other. I hope the memories they make together each day will be good ones for them and that they will always have a good relationship.

More Water Fun

Last year was the first year we went to Utah and reserved a water slide park in Ogden. It was so fun we went again this year. We had a great time! It was a little colder then last year so our kids didn't play in the water as long. But they both enjoyed themselves. Unfortunately, there were a few mishaps and the next day Mark and I were both aching so bad it was ridiculous. While we were there I asked Mark why exactly we think it's fun to get so beat up! But somehow it is. LOTS of pictures to follow!

This is what the park looks like. Three slides meet in the middle pool. There's a really wide slide off to the right (which resulted in the worst injuries) and there are two inflatable slides, one you can't see and one in the top right corner. There's also a kiddie area with park toys behind the overhang. It's a GREAT park and we end up paying less then admission by all chipping in to reserve the whole place for ourselves.
Saydi and Steph at the kiddie area. I'm not sure who missed who more! These two spent most of the day together.
The brothers.
Saydi makes this scrunchy face about 100 times a day and I love that she's making it on the slide! She cracks me up.
Mark took the prize home for worst incident this year. And this little scenario was how it started. Note that he has a 140 lb. 14 year old on his back. Which led to him being propelled down the slide.
Which led to this massive splash. Unfortunately, after I snapped this picture Mark just kept on propelling down the slide and slid all the way down the three cement stairs at the bottom on his belly.
Everywhere that you see red on his belly turned into massive scratches and welts. This picture hardly does it justice. He and I both went down the stairs again later that day but I only got my legs a little and he got his back a little. I would say lesson learned but...
Mark and Wes. Trevor in the other slide.
Love this picture of Mark and Weston!
Mark and Jakob
Chase, Brenon and Mark. Mark is the little round head you can barely see in the midst of all the water splashing. =)
We had a great time with family even though we practically went down and right back. The kids were extremely sleep deprived but we're just about back on track today. It's totally worth it and so fun. It's great starting traditions with my own little family. Even if they are painful ones!
