Busy Busy!

So much has been going on around here lately that I was quite surprised to look at the calendar today and see that in almost exactly one month we will be celebrating Saydi's first birthday! Where in the world does time go? In fact, I'm so busy right now that I really only have time for a brief update (which I must do for my own sake, because I will surely forget that I put these pictures on my computer)! So here are some pictures with updates, and a more detailed post to come later if/when our lives slow down a bit more!

Weston sporting his new hat and "gasses" which he MUST wear at all times if he is outside or in the car. Love it.
Marlene came up last weekend and helped me put in all my flowers (pictures for sure will be coming of that as they fill in!) and she also helped me by washing my windows with her homemade cleaner that is better than anything you'll ever buy at the store! Weston had to get in on the action and help out. This is his classic scrunchy face that he makes all the time as of late. And special thanks to Grammy for all her help!
Saydi has been quite the random sleeper lately. The other day she fell asleep in the car and I brought her in a laid her down while I helped Weston get his jacket off, thinking that she would wake up but at least wouldn't be a bear about it if she was laying on the floor. I hung Weston's jacket up and turned around to find this: =)
Last night I went to check on her and found her in her crib like this:
She looks HUGE to me sleeping in her crib like that with her legs all scrunched up. I don't know when my baby turned into a little girl but it must have happened over night! She has the cutest personality and makes the funniest faces. She'll clear her throat if you do and makes a fun little game of it which is adorable. Really, I feel like all she needs to do is start walking and she'll officially not be my baby anymore! =( and =)

We had our Space Derby which didn't quite work but it was still fun. And our group managed to keep track of all of our boys at the Jamboral in Blackfoot the other weekend despite there being 6,000 other scouts there! I'm really starting to enjoy doing scouts and realizing how much work I have ahead of myself when Weston joins in 6 years. Yikes. Other then that we're just gearing up for summer and trying to shorten our ever lengthening list of things that need to get done around here! Nearly impossible.

Why I Love My Husband

On Mother's Day Mark had to work and Weston had a fever so it wasn't a very "special" day but Mark did get me some gift cards and told me the other part of my present was at work. I woke up this morning and found this letter from my "kids":

I love the way you watch me play with that "proud mother" look in your eyes.
I love that you always know what I'm saying.
I love that you always know what I'm feeling.
I love the way it pains you to have to sit on me to give me my medicine.
I love it when you squeeze me till it hurts.
I love it when you play with me.
I love learning everything you have to teach me.
I love it when you get sad cause I'm hurting.
I love the way you show me off in front of your family and friends.
I love the way you spank and pinch my bum as a sign of affection.
I love the way you treat my dada.
I love that you always make sure I get to live in a clean and beautiful home.
I love it when we pray together.
I love that my Heavenly Father blessed my mama with such a strong testimony.
I love it when you sing to me.
I love Heavenly Father for making you my mama.
I love seeing your face first thing every morning.
I love the way you love me.
I love you, I love you lots.
Love, Fussy
Love, Precious

Mark always seems to have a knack for knowing when I'm feeling incompetent and making me feel better. Thank you for the best Mother's Day present Baby! Love it, love you.

Teeth, Swimming, and General Cuteness

Saydi finally had her two bottom teeth break through just over a week ago. I took this picture the day after and you can only see one really good but now they're both through and starting to come up enough that you can see them when she laughs. I love it.
We also took the kids swimming the other day. It was Saydi's first time and she LOVED it.
She could've stayed there all day. I can't believe I'm adding this picture of me with her (beware the of heaving that will follow) but Saydi looks so cute in her little swimming suit that I just can't resist. And it's probably the only picture I have with me and my little girl since I'm always on the other side of the camera. =)
It was kind of bittersweet for me too though because when we first got there we asked the lady for two flotation things since Weston had to use one last year. But when I walked out of the dressing room with Saydi I saw my little guy standing all by himself in the swimming pool with his daddy completely out of arms reach and the water was barely even up to his chest! Sad! I guess I was in denial about how much he's grown. He loved it just as much as Saydi and they both bawled when we took them out. Even though it had been almost an hour and they were both getting cold.
Weston is talking more and more each day but he definitely has his favorites that he likes to say rather then working on new words. He asks me at least 100 times a day (NO JOKE) "was dis?" and then he repeats, or tries to repeat, what I tell him. He's figuring out that everything has a name and he wants to know what it is! I've tried for so long to get him to say "thank you" and a few weeks ago he finally started saying it. It was worth the wait! He says "thas you" but he does it with this adorable little inflection that makes it all sing-songy and he always says it at appropriate times. Sometimes he won't quit saying it until I say "you're welcome". Adorable. My other favorite thing he does is when he talks to Saydi in a baby voice. He'll make his voice so high pitched and say, "Saydi, 'mere, less go". It makes me laugh every time. He is still such a good brother and Saydi thinks the world of him. One of these days I'm going to video tape the reaction they have to each other first thing in the morning. It's priceless.

So besides kids there's a whole lot of scouts going on around here, some rearranging of furniture, overtime (I think Mark's the only person I know who is actually getting a truck load of overtime with the economy the way it is. I should be more grateful...) and just general happiness. We are getting sick of this cold weather though and are anxious to plant the garden and flowers and play outside! I'll come read this post again when it's 90 degrees outside and my kids refuse to come inside. =/

CPS? I think yes

I'm so behind on recent events so I figured I'd start with the bad things first. About a week ago Saydi pulled on the cord of my flat iron and burned her arm SO BAD. I was right there and I literally snatched it off her before it was even on her arm for a half a second. But that was plenty long enough. I'm afraid she'll have quite the scar. She's a trooper though. She didn't cry for all that long and it hasn't seemed to bother her at all.

Last week I went to check on my dad again and Weston woke up from his nap there and was just bawling and whining and whining and whining. Needless to say, my patience pretty much ran out because he doesn't communicate with me and couldn't/wouldn't tell me what was wrong. So I got irritated and I packed the kids up and we left after about an hour and a half of crying and whining. Well, wouldn't you know it, in the car he barfed every where. It was almost an identical situation to the last time he did it. (Bringing the grand total to 2 times he's ever barfed. Both in the car - am I lucky or what?) So of course I felt like the world's worst mother for being so impatient with him and being grouchy when he was feeling so yucky. I think he just ate some bad food because he was fine after that and didn't have any other episodes.

I think all this falls in the category of both the bad and the ugly of parenting. Good thing I get more then plenty of the good!
