One Whole Year

On the 20th my baby Saydi turned one! I can hardly believe it's been a year. I think the first year goes by so fast because the first few months are spent in a sleepless stupor. I honestly only remember bits and pieces of those first couple months! Anyway, things are much easier now and we're so grateful to have such a precious little girl in our lives.

We pretty much had three "celebrations" for Saydi. I think Saydi woke up on Saturday knowing it wasn't just a typical day. She was downright giddy all day and I loved it. For the most part she stayed that way all weekend. On Saturday my sisters and their kids came over and it was tons of fun. Miss brought a Toy Story slip 'n slide which Makoy and Kaden had the most fun with. The kiddie pool was a pretty big hit for the little ones though and mostly we just had fun!
Saydi wasn't sure about the cake but then I helped her sample it and she decided it was worth getting messy for.
Weston anxiously waiting for guests while playing with his party favor.
Saydi had no dolls before her birthday and now she has 3! She loves them.
My friend Jill was in town so she came with her little boy Noah and my other friend Jackie came with her little girl Brooke. Saydi has lots of friends her age and it's great!

Sunday was Saydi's actual birthday which was also Father's Day. Mark had to work so he didn't get much of a celebration but did like the solar lights that he got as a gift. For Saydi I decorated the house the night before (a tradition I stole from my sister that I guarantee I will always do for all my kids) and we had a pretty typical Sunday morning. After church we opened presents with daddy before he left for work again and found out that we got Saydi the wrong kind of car seat! Woops. My parents came over to see her afterwards and had dinner and leftover cake. It was a nice visit and a fun day. (Even though Saydi was more then a handful during sacrament meeting!)
The Burfday Girl

On Monday we enjoyed spending time with Sean and Audrey who came up for Saydi's little get together with Mark's family. We had pizzas and of course, more cake. Well, cupcakes. Saydi loved it and we spent time outside and watched the boys play 500. Great entertainment.
I'm not sure what she was thinking/doing in this picture but I love it.
I guess it takes three whole days to decide you don't like cake. Except for me, I ate it for three days and still love it.

Believe it or not there are actually lots more pictures then these. =) What can I say, I think Saydi's so cute that I just can't spare any. We had a fun weekend and have had an even more fun year with Saydi around. Her one year stats are: 19 lbs. 12 oz. (28%) and just over 30 inches long (80%). We love you Saydi and hope you had a fun first birthday!

Cute flower cake and even cuter little Saydi. Can't believe it's already been a year. And, can I just tell you that I almost threw up when reading about how you remember (or don't remember) those first few months as being completely crazy...SO not looking forward to that.
